VICTO INDOOR LEAGUE - 2010 [RULES & REGULATIONS]

1. Each team shall comprose of 8 playing members out of a totaol pool of 12 registered players.

2. Every match shall comprise of 2 innings of 8 overs each; 1 inning for each team.

3. Each player must coumpulsorily bowl one over.

4. A team would have to bat their full quota of 8 overs even if they surpass the opponent's score.

5. A maximum of 4 players [which includes the bowler] shall be allowed beyond the 2 run zone.

6. The opening batting pair shall bat for the first 2 overs after the completion of which they will be replaced by the next pair and so on, till the 8 overs are exhausted and all the 4 pairs have had their turn in batting.

7. The side netting has a 1 bonus run zone, which covers the area between the batting crease and halfway line. And another 2 bonus run zone, which continues from the half way line to the corner of the playing arena. The front netting is a 4 bonus runs zone if hit after the ball bounces off the ground and 6 bonus runs when the ball hits it on the full. The bonus runs are added with the runs scored by the batsmen through running between the wickets.

8. No bonus runs will be awarded for hitting the roof netting.

9. A catch off any net is declared out and 3 runs would be deducted from the batting side. The batsman however shall continue to bat. The rule however does not apply for a catch off the front net when a 6 is hit.

10. Running between the wickets is done between the batting crease and the halway point on the pitch. The runners crease is marked at the half way point and the runner stands at this crease. All complete runs will therefore mean a player runs only half the pitch.

11. To run a batsman out at the bowler's end, the bowler's end wickets will have to be struck before the batsman reaches the half way runners crease.

12. A batsman cannot be given out LBW.

13. A wide ball (anything outside the leg stump & 12 inches wide off the off stump) shall count as 5 runs for the batting team and the ball would not be re-bowled, except for the last over [8th over], where each wide would account for 2 runs and the ball will not be counted.

14. No ball is penalized with 2 runs apart from the runs scored off the bat or extras and the ball would not be counted.

15. Any delivery which after pitching passes or would have passed over and above the shoulder height of the striker standing upright at the crease or any delivery which passes or would have passed on the full above waist height of the striker standing upright at the crease would be deemed to be a no ball.

16. Over throws that hit the bonus run zones will get the bonus runs added to the tally of runs scored.

17. A dismissal will mean a deduction of 3 runs but the batsman continues to bat.

18. The umpire's decision is final on the field and cannot be contested.

19. All teams and reserves should be attired in proper and identical team uniform.

20. Sports shoes with rubber soles is a must.

21. Approximate time per match is 60 minutes.

22. In case of a tie, super over will be bowled.

FORMAT:

The tournament will be contested for two trophies - The Gold Cup and the Silver Cup.

Teams in Group A and B would contest for the Gold Cup where as the teams in Groups C and D would contest for the Silver Cup. 4 teams from each group will qualify for the quarter finals whereas, the bottom 3 teams will be eliminated. The structure for the knock-out matches would be as under:
